Abstract

This study extrapolates the manifestations of the phenomenon legendary in the novel Al-shakeykah, a novel written by the Yemeni novelist, Mohammed Mosed Aloudi through highlighting the personal legendary, place of the legendary, objects assets and the symbolic legendary employed by in the novel. The novelist has traced the legendary phenomena adapting more than one method to reach the results of which are as follows: 1. The function of a myth appeared in some models through descriptions, loaded supernatural qualities and actions, and extraordinary abilities embodied its myth. 2. The function of a legend in the novel Al-shakeykah is derived from the Yemeni, Arab and human heritage, to search for a new form of novel, and technical technique through which the writer can present his ideas freely and passing them far away from the authority of the censor.
