Abstract

This article sheds light on the Yemeni popular poet Ghazal al-Maqdishiyah, as a poet and a social worker. Ghazal is considered one of the most prominent Yemeni popular poets to this day for she has dealt with many social issues and she has also appeared in in an era when the education of women was not known. Ghazal also stands against war in its particular region and Yemen in general. This research reveals some of the poetic implications of her poetry, as well as its most prominent characteristics
