Leadership Styles of School Principals in Al-Mahra Governorate from the Teachers’ View Point

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree of the principals' practice in Al-Mahra governorate of leadership styles from the point of view of teachers. It looks at the level of difference in the views of the study sample according to variables like: gender and number of years of experience. The sample of the study consisted of (310) teachers, who were randomly selected for the study out of a population of 1200 teachers, males and females. A questionnaire has been used for the study which consists of three axes: the autocratic style, the democratic style and the laissez-faire style. And verified its validity and stability. The study found the following results: The responses of the sample of the study on the degree of the practice of school principals in Al-Mahra governorate to the leadership styles were as follows: Medium for the democratic and autocratic styles, and low for the laissez-faire style. There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≥ 0.05) between the average responses of the study sample members on the level of practice of school principals for leadership styles according to the gender variable and the number of years of experience variable.
