Abstract

The aim of this research is to introduce a biography of the learned scholar Abi Adhiya’a Nuradeen Ali al-Shabramalisi (died in 1087 AH), who was one of the Egyptian scholars of Qur’anic readings (qirāʾāt) in the eleventh century AH, through highlighting his scholarly personality and his efforts in the teaching of Qur’anic readings. It also highlights his impact on other scholars, and their role in the spread of Qur’anic readings in different regions. The research consists of an introduction, three areas of research, and a conclusion. The study revealed Al-Shabramalisi’s high position in the sciences of Sharia and transmission, as well as his leading position in the science of readings besides the celebrity of his students.
