Abstract

This study verifies a manuscript titled “Sirat Ibn Hisham: Biography of the Prophet (SAW) by Ibn Hiesham Imad Al-Din Al-Wasit (d. 711 H.". The study consists of an introduction, two main sections and a conclusion and references. The introduction deals with the importance of the prophetic biography (of the prophet), the rationale behind the selection of the manuscript and the methodology of the study. In the first section, the researcher gives a brief note about the author and his manuscript. This section also deals with his era، lineage, life, teachers, works and his death. The section also verifies the origin of the book, its methodology and found it is attributed to the author. The research then investigates the content of the manuscript. which begins with the mission to sending the people to Sham “Levant” until the burial of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. The established methods in the verification of scientific heritage are strictly adhered to. The study underscores the significance of the conservation and restoration of manuscripts. Manuscripts are the only way to preserve the various sciences and arts produced by Arabs and Muslims. Manuscripts are a protective safe (method) for the nation’s religion, its history، experiences and expertise. We are still in dire need of them and we will continue to need them in the future.
