Ethics

Publication Ethics:

Regarding the ethics of publishing research and studies, there are several guidelines. Some of these guidelines are exclusive to researchers, while others are meant for people involved in editorial boards and departments. The following are some of the instructions:

1- For researchers:

  • The importance of researchers' dedication and approval of all ethics linked to publishing academic scientific research in conformity with the rules imposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • The investigator hereby certifies in writing that this study is entirely his own in terms of intellectual property rights, originality, and whether or not it has been published already or is still pending publication by any printing or publishing organization.

  • After delivering or publishing the study, if the researcher discovers any flaws, faults, or inadequacies of any type, he/she must notify the managing editor or editor-in-chief to prevent further occurrence of such flaws or errors, if any.
  • The significance of the researcher's reaction to the editorial management and the journal’s policy at every point of the research process—before, during, or after printing and publication.

  • The published study in the journal reflects solely the opinions of the researchers.
  • The journal does not publish research that does not adhere to the guidelines and controls outlined in the journal's literature.

  • If the researcher does not adhere to the journal's stated standards and controls, the administration and editor-in-chief have the complete authority to withdraw and cancel the study from the journal's website and indexed databases after it has been published.

  • The journal shall report any suspected occurrences of plagiarism or duplicate publishing in accordance with the organizational rules and regulations. It maintains the right to review submitted research at any moment using plagiarism detection software.

2- For Editors and Editorial board:

  • The editor, in collaboration with the editor-in-chief, is in charge of choosing research that may be published in the journal.

  • The editor is the one who decides what constitutes plagiarism and copyright infringement, consulting with expert referees and anybody else he considers relevant from the journal's editorial and advisory boards.

  • Regarding the submitted study to the journal, the editor is dedicated to impartiality and objectivity, irrespective of the researcher's ethnicity, gender, political views, or country of origin.

  • The editor is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of all information pertaining to research submitted to the journal, with the exception of those who have been granted permission to do so by the editorial board and advisory board of the publication, as needed.
  • Regarding the appropriate selection of reviewers and maintaining secrecy in the identities of arbitrators and researchers alike, the editor is dedicated to sharing with the board and the editor-in-chief honesty and fair dealing.

  • Verify the scientific accuracy and soundness of the approach used in the preparation of the study that will be submitted to the journal.

  • Ascertain that the complaints filed by the parties involved are considered, followed up on, and resolved as quickly as feasible in compliance with the laws and guidelines guiding the journal's operations.

3- For the Reviewers:

The specialists who are consulted for their opinion on whether or not the study is genuine and worthy of publishing are known as arbitrators. Nonetheless, the following points need to refer to relevant ethics:

  • Two arbitrators in the field of specialty are consulted on research submitted for publishing in the journal. In an effort to be fair to the researcher, if one of them rejects the research, it is then submitted to a third arbitrator who will either accept it or reject it. The arbitration procedure is always private and compliant with the mentioned laws and guidelines.

  • As long as they have earned prominent academic titles and degrees, such as professor or associate professor, the arbitrators are chosen from prestigious universities as well as scientific and research institutes.

  • The arbiter is dedicated to impartiality and justice, distant from prejudice in any form.
  • The arbitrator is obligated to complete the task within the allotted time, and he/she must notify the director or editor-in-chief of any issues.

  • The reviewer is committed to to his/her job confidentiality regarding the research assigned to him for arbitration.
  • In addition to providing scientific evidence to back up his report, the referee promises to provide thorough and compliant feedback on the research, following the format provided by the refereeing form.

4- For the editorial management:

The editorial management is subject to certain norms and restrictions, which include the following:

  • Ensuring that research submitted for publication is evaluated independently of the gender, religion affiliation, or political standing of the researcher.
  • Ensuring the privacy of research-related data that viewable individuals submit for publication.

  • Dedication to providing the researcher with enough time to address the referees' inquiries and make the necessary corrections.

  • A dedication to communicating to the researcher the number designated for publishing in the research as well as the consent to publish it.

  • Highlighting the technical requirements and safeguards that must be in place in order to accept and finish the publishing approval phases.
