Project of Improving Quality of Mathematics and Science Education (PIQMAS) Interventions Effectiveness in Enhancing Students' Motivation towards Learning Science and Mathematics: A study of Teacher Perspectives in Palestine

The study aims to explore the effectiveness of the PIQMAS (Program for Improving the Quality of Mathematics and Science Education) interventions in enhancing the motivation of targeted students towards learning science and mathematics, from the perspective of their teachers in Palestine. The descriptive-analytical approach was employed, using a questionnaire consisting of 30 items distributed across five dimensions representing the five interventions of the PIQMAS program: board organization, student notebook, thought-provoking questions, interactive learning (group work), and formative assessment. The study key findings showed that the effectiveness of the PIQMAS program interventions in enhancing students' motivation towards learning science and mathematics, as perceived by their teachers in Palestine, was significantly high, with an overall mean score of 3.85 and a standard deviation of 0.504. Among the interventions, formative assessment was perceived as the least effective, with a mean score of 3.75, while student notebook had the highest mean score of 4.00 and a standard deviation of 0.632.
