Abstract

This research deals with the obstacles to field research at Taiz University from the point of view of the faculty members, indicating that there are significant deficiencies in the studies that dealt with this topic at the Arab and local levels. It points to a set of fundamental differences between theoretical research and field research and to the characteristics of each of them. The first section is the theoretical framework that deals with the importance, problematic and previous studies. The second section deals with field research, and reached conclusions, including: a low level of social awareness of the importance of field research, high rates of illiteracy, an increase in the burden of the teaching staff from the courses taught, and an increase in the administrative burdens of those who occupy an administrative position.
