This study aims at clarifying the rule of Sharia in the two issues of washing the Friday and listening to its sermons through the book “Neel Al-Awtar” by Imam Al-Shawkani, may God have mercy on him, taking from the hadith of the companion Nabisha – may God be pleased with him – with Imam Ahmed as a basis for analysis. The study was guided by the sayings of the nation’s predecessors and the scholars of the jurisprudential schools. The investigation comprised the two issues of the sayings of the jurists and the hadith scholars, along with the study of the hadith’s reference and its transcription, and the opinion of the hadith scholars on its reference, as well as the opinion of the jurists in deduction and application. The study revealed that although the hadith is weak in terms of narrators, it has many evidences that indicate its authenticity. The disagreement over Friday washing as an obligatory or Sunnah? That does not invalidate the prayer. The difference in the issue of listening to the two Friday sermons is that the prayer misses out the Friday reward and falls into sin or dislike for those who say that speaking is not permissible or disliked, so the prayer is not ordered to repeat the prayer.
