Abstract

The present study focused on the jurisprudential commentaries of Imam Al-Shawkani on the scholar Al-Hasan bin Ahmad Al-Jalal in the chapter of the prayer (the call to prayer, the immoral person’s leading in prayer, and invocation in dawn prayer as an example). An integrated scientific vision is presented on the term commentaries, and the importance of studying and discussing them between the two Imams Al-Shawkani and the scholar Al-Jalal, as that increases the reader’s conviction., firmly establishes in the reassurance of the critics’ approach in stating the correct and most likely statements based on the validity of the evidence. The study followed the inductive method and the comparative deductive analytical method. The study covered an introduction, four sections, and a conclusion. The first section tackled the concept of commentaries and their related synonyms and mentioned a translation a brief summary of Imams Al-Shawkani and Al-Jalal. The second section discussed Imam Al-Shawkani’s approach to prayers, the importance of studying them and their benefits. The third section covered Al-Shawkani’s commentaries on Al-Jalal in the ruling about the call to prayer and the ruling on the boy’s call to prayer. The fourth section discussed Al-Shawkani’s commentaries on Al-Jalal in the ruling of leading an immoral person for prayer, and the ruling of invocation in dawn prayer. The study results showed the importance of jurisprudential implications and their effectiveness in clarifying the correct jurisprudential rulings based on the Qur’an and Sunnah, in which they increase the reader’s conviction and stability in reassurance regarding the critics’ approach in stating the correct statements based on the validity of the evidence.
