Abstract

The study aims to explore the patterns and structural forms of the Abstract Constative Nominal Clause used in the Yemeni proverbs as found in Ismail Alaqua’s “Yemeni Proverbs” (2010) in order to compare the theoretical view of this syntactic structure formed by the grammarian to the real use in the Yemeni colloquial context and monitor any potential paradox between colloquial and standard forms. The Analytical descriptive approach is used in this study, which begins with extrapolating the abstract constative nominal clause from the Yemeni proverbs, then applying a sample of them on the Arabic Grammar Rules to analyse the chosen examples’ elements and know its syntactic patterns & functions. The study includes an introduction: its importance, objectives, methods, and resources three correlated themes, a conclusion and a list of references.
