Fear of Annihilation in Andalusi Festive Poetry: A Study of Architecture Texts during Nasrid Dynasty

Abstract

The study aims to shed light on an implicit invisible interesting emotional phenomenon characterizing Andalusian festive poetry, with particular reference to texts of Andalusian architecture as featured in Alhamra Palace of Granada. The paper is divided into an introduction and two sections. The introduction deals with emotions, addressing the relationship between feeling and color and social and cultural context.  The first section reviews the roots of fear among the Andalusians. The second section focuses on fear manifestations in festive poetic works. The study revealed that Andalusian poetry was replete with a deep sense of invisible flow of fear, pessimism and unrest embedded within the festive joyful f textual form and structure.  Such hidden apprehensions were traced back previous centuries' heritage marked with the successive fall of the Andalusian cities in the hands of the Christians and the internal plots and conspiracies inside Alhamra Palace. The study concluded that poetry played an instrumental role decisive depicting and representing such hidden feelings.
