Abstract

The research aims to identify youth unemployment in Yemen, discover its reality, and reveal its risks. The study comes in an introduction and three axes, as follows: The first axis: unemployment, its concept and effects. The second axis: youth unemployment and its risks. The third axis: youth unemployment in Yemen. The research concludes that the growth of unemployment rates in the Arab countries in general and Yemen in particular is due to several factors, including the high rates of population growth and the inability to create sufficient job opportunities that correspond to the supply represented by the increasing numbers of entrants to the labor market. The strategy that was developed is a practical declaration of the priorities and directions that Yemen intends to adopt. Children and youth constitute 76% of the population at the national level, or about 14.9% million citizens, of whom 5 million young people constitute the largest group ever that crosses into adulthood.
