Abstract

This study aims to reveal the most preferred psychological and social characteristics of a faculty member, Faculty of Education among a sample of students. The study tries to identify whether there are differences in the preferred psychological and social characteristics of the teaching staff among the sample members according to gender and academic level. For this purpose, a questionnaire prepared by the researcher was applied to a sample of (122) male and female students. The research found that the attributes of self-confidence, honesty in fulfilling promises, fairness in dealing with students, courage in telling the truth, and patience occupied the forefront of the list of preferred features of a faculty member from the point of view of the sample. The difference was in psychological and social characteristics of the sample members according to gender and academic level. There were statistically significant differences due to sex in the psychological and social characteristics. There were also statistically significant differences in the preferred psychological and social characteristics of the faculty member among the students of the sample according to the academic level.
