The Linguistic Model in Books Teaching Arabic to Non-native Speaker Diplomats: A Comparative Analytical Reading

The study aims to analyze the linguistic content in the fourth book of Arabic for the World series and compare it with a series on Teaching Arabic for Special Purposes to determine the construction of the educational unit in both. Moreover, it analyzes the linguistic content in its two parts: linguistic skills and linguistic elements, and the subsequent activities, exercises, and educational accompaniments. In light of the comparative analytical approach, the study provided an accurate description of the content with its elements and linguistic skills to highlight aspects of strength, avoid aspects of weakness or shortcomings, and benefit from its results by providing feedback to those responsible for preparing series on teaching Arabic as a second language for diplomatic purposes. There is a difference between the books of the two series in terms of the arrangement and sequence of skills and linguistic elements for each educational unit, and this difference in the sequence of skills and language elements affects the learner’s reception and production of the language. The books of the two series showed an absence of extracurricular activities, trips, and field visits. They use old pictures and events which require those in charge, to modernize and develop them.
