Author Guidelines

The Journal of Arts for Psychological & Educational Studies, a peer-reviewed publication, is issued by the Faculty of Arts at Thamar University in the Republic of Yemen. We welcome research submissions in Arabic, English, and French, following the guidelines outlined below:

First: General Publishing Guidelines

  • Research should exhibit originality and adhere to rigorous scientific methodology. It must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Correct language usage, adherence to grammar rules, and precision in formatting are essential.
  • Research papers should be typeset in the "Sakkal Majalla" font, size 15, for Arabic submissions, and in the "Sakkal Majalla" font, size 13, for English and French submissions. Main titles should be in bold and size 16. Line spacing should be set at 1.5 cm, and there should be a margin of 2.5 cm on each side.
  • The research manuscript should fall within the range of 5,000 to 7,000 words, encompassing figures, tables, and appendices. It is permissible to exceed this limit up to 9,000 words.
  • Researchers must avoid all forms of plagiarism, including the use of others' phrases or ideas without proper attribution to the original sources.

Second: Submission Procedures

Researchers are expected to follow these steps when submitting their researches:

  • The first page should include the title in Arabic, the researcher's name and affiliation, email address, and an Arabic abstract.
  • The second page should provide an English translation of the information on the first page.
  • Both the Arabic and English abstracts should include the following elements: research objectives, methodology, tools, and results. Each abstract should not exceed 170 words or fall below 120 words, presented in a single paragraph. Additionally, include 4-5 keywords in both languages.
  • Introduction: This section encompasses the research's theoretical framework and integrates previous studies without a separate title.
  • Address the research problem, its questions, hypotheses (if any), and objectives.
  • Highlight the theoretical and practical significance of the research, define its terms, and outline the factors that influenced it.
  • Research Methodology: Describe the research population, the sample used, tool validity and reliability, corrections made, and the statistical methods employed for data analysis.
  • Presentation of Results: This section presents the results of the statistical analysis and provides commentary.
  • Results Discussion: Sometimes, the discussion can be integrated with the results section.
  • Offer recommendations and proposals.
  • Include reference tables and footnotes.
  • Ensure that tables follow APA 7th edition guidelines in terms of accuracy and design.
  • Use APA 7th edition for documenting footnotes within the research body.
  • Arrange references at the end of the research in alphabetical order, following APA 7th edition guidelines. Exclude common prefixes such as "Al," "Abu," and "Ibn" from the alphabetization. For example, "Ibn Manzur" would be sorted under "M."
  • After final approval and review by the journal's editorial board, romanize the references.
  • Submit research papers in both Word and PDF formats to the editor-in-chief via the journal's email address: artsjep@tu.edu.ye

The editor-in-chief will acknowledge receipt of the research and inform the researcher whether it will be subjected to peer review or require revisions before being considered for review.

Third: Editorial Review and Publication Procedures

  • Once the editor-in-chief or managing editor approves a research paper for editorial review, it is forwarded to the assigned reviewers.
  • Two reviewers, holding prestigious academic titles (professor or associate professor) in the relevant field of specialization, review each research paper. If one reviewer rejects it, a third reviewer is consulted for fairness to the researcher. The final decision is made based on the reports from the reviewers, considering the research's scientific merit, adherence to publication conditions, and the journal's stated policy, rooted in principles of scientific integrity and research originality.
  • The editor-in-chief is responsible for communicating the reviewers' decision regarding publication suitability, potential amendments required, or rejection to the researcher.
  • Researchers are obligated to implement the amendments suggested by the reviewers, as outlined in their reports, within a maximum of 15 days.
  • In cases where substantial revisions are recommended, the research is re-evaluated by the reviewers to assess the researcher's compliance. For minor amendments, the editorial department oversees the process. Once final verification is completed, the researcher is issued an acceptance letter for publication, specifying the issue number and publication date.
  • After ensuring that the research is in its final form, it undergoes editing, linguistic review, and technical review before proceeding to the final stages of publication.
  • Researchers are provided with the research paper in its final form for one last review and to address any remaining comments, if applicable, using a designated form.
  • Issues are published electronically on the journal's website according to the predefined publication schedule and are available for free download immediately upon publication.
  • The organization of research papers within issues adheres to technical standards.
