Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of animation-based educational software for developing creative thinking skills with female second-grade school students of basic education in Ibb City. A quasi-experimental approach was used for a sample of 60 students from Al-Amgad Modern Schools in Ibb City, divided into two groups of 30: controlled and experimental. The former was taught by the traditional method while the last one by the animation-based educational software. A test was used as a research tool to test the creative thinking skills (i.e. fluency, flexibility, originality). The most important findings were: there were statistically significant differences in favor of creative thinking skills, individually and collectively; and there was a higher effect for the animation-based educational software on the students' creative thinking skills. Finally, the study introduced a number of recommendations and suggestions.
