This research undertakes a scholarly study and critical investigation of the work The People’s Sayings on the Permissibility of Marrying a Sister One Day After Her Sister’s Death by the Hanafi jurist Hamid bin Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Amadi Al-Dimashqi (d. 1171 AH). Despite its concise style and limited expressions, the book offers valuable insights into Hanafi jurisprudence. The study is structured into an introduction, two main sections, and a conclusion: the first section presents a brief biography of the author, while the second focuses on the verified text. Employing the documentation method recognized in academic circles, the research aims to reproduce the manuscript as faithfully as possible to preserve and disseminate Al-Amadi’s legal thought. Key findings confirm the authenticity of the book’s attribution and its original title, while also highlighting Al-Amadi’s distinguished role among Hanafi scholars, evidenced by his prolific writings and nuanced methodology in legal reasoning, dialectical engagement, and transmission of jurisprudential views. The work further reflects his mastery not only in fiqh but also in disciplines such as tafsir, linguistics, and other Islamic sciences.
