This research deals with the Arabic lexical industry and its schools through three main axes. The first axis deals with the linguistic and idiomatic meaning of the lexicon and the dictionary and the difference between them. As for the second axis, it focused on the different stages that the Arabic dictionaries went through since their early days at the hands of Ibn Abbas (68 AH) and their maturity at the hands of Khalil bin Ahmed (170 AH), indicating the periods of time during which the lexical industry faded and the reasons for that. As for the third axis, it dealt with the Arabic dictionaries schools, as the researcher showed the difference of modern scholars in the number of these schools and in naming the pioneers of some of these schools, explaining the reason for that difference.Downloads
