Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the relationship between the Public Prosecution and the civil litigation in the Sultanate of Oman. The role of the specialists is to achieve the public interest and the protection of society and push away any harm against him. In order to achieve the main objective of the research, the relevant literature and legal materials were reviewed. The analytical descriptive approach was adopted as the optimal method for the subject in question. The research has concluded that the public prosecution has the right to intervene in the civil action to protect the public right; that is the right of society, as in the case of criminal proceedings, and that the public prosecution has the discretion to proceed in the proceedings of the civil action referred to it by the court or not. The study has ended with recommendation about the importance of raising awareness among members of the Omani society about the competence of the Public Prosecution in various civil and criminal cases by various media.
