Abstract

This study is concerned with collecting narratives that Imam Al-Daraqutni reported in his book Al-‘illal of an Imam Holy Hadith, namely Mujahid bin Jabr, as he is one of the many narrators and he has companions who narrate about him and disagree with him on some narrations. Al-Daraqutni’s book is considered one of the most comprehensive collections of questioned narrations. The study aims to show the hidden problems in the narration which is faulted for the disagreement over this Imam and presenting the correct accounts on them. The most important results of the research can be summarized in the following: 1- Al-Hafizh Al-Daraqutni was able to master the art of the problems of hadith, which made scholars submit to his leading role in this field. His book is one of the most important books in this art. 2-‘Illm Al-‘illal (The Science of Hadith Problems) is one of the most complicated sciences. Hadith student cannot reach factual conclusions unless he/she collects the methods of narrating a single hadith and the sayings of scholars on the narrators. 3- The most important criteria of weighting when differing over a particular hadith narration are the most memorable and the most widely narrated. 4-The number of Mujahid’s companions who narrated from him was twenty-three narrators, of which the most reliable are fourteen, three in the rank of Sadouq (honest), and six are weak. 5- The difference may be from the companions of Mujahid and he is the most, and it may be from Mujahid himself. 6- Hadiths under study amounted to nine, of which seven are hadith sahih and two are weak.
