The research aims to answer what is the general level of environmental enlightenment among teachers in the Faculty of Education? Does the level of environmental enlightenment of teachers differ according to specialization? Does it differ according to gender? It has committed itself to a random sample of fourth year students of the Faculty of Education, Thamar University, scientific and literary departments. It tries to determine the level of environmental enlightenment in the light of the test that was derived by the Egyptian Association for Curricula and Teaching Methods, which is (75%) of the maximum score as a minimum requirement for the adequacy required for the test during the academic year 2005-2006, and the research has calculated the averages and standard deviations, and clarified the degrees of the adequacy limit for each of the areas of the total test of environmental enlightenment. It has reached the weakness of the academic and vocational preparation programs for the student teacher, as they still focus on the theoretical aspects and do not give enough attention education, and is still considered a course within the requirements of the college's cultural program.
