The role of artificial intelligence technologies in developing the functions of Yemeni universities

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of agreement of experts in Yemeni universities regarding the role of artificial intelligence techniques in developing the three functions: (educational, scientific research, community service), and to identify whether there are statistically significant differences between the average estimates of the members of the study sample, and the researchers used The descriptive approach, by distributing a questionnaire consisting of (26) items within three areas representing the functions of universities as a tool for collecting data for a sample size of (26) academic experts, selected using a non-random sampling method, and after collecting the data, it was analyzed using the (SPSS v.26) program. The study concluded: The degree of agreement regarding the role of artificial intelligence techniques in developing the functions of Yemeni universities was rated (strongly agree) at the level of the tool as a whole and at the level of the fields, with an arithmetic average that ranged between (4.30 - 4.29) and with standard deviations that ranged between (0.63 - 0.53), and the study also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the average estimates of the study sample members due to the study variables: (scientific specialization, academic degree, years of experience). The study recommended the need for decision-makers and university education policy makers to adopt the application of artificial intelligence techniques to develop the functions of Yemeni universities, and to train and qualify faculty members, graduate students, and academic and administrative leaders to use these technologies in their job performance.
