تتقصى هذه الدراسة طبيعة تمثيل اليمنيين وتصويرهم في فيلم المخرج لارس هالستروم «صيد السلمون في اليمن» (2011)، المقتبس عن رواية بول تورداي الصادرة بالعنوان ذاته (2007). تهدف الدراسة إلى تحليل العوامل والآليات المسهمة في تشكيل الصورة النمطية لليمنيين في الفيلم؛ ويسعى التحليل إلى الإجابة عن التساؤل الآتي: كيف صوّر فيلم «صيد السلمون في اليمن» اليمنيين؟ وما هي العوامل والدوافع الكامنة وراء تلك التصويرات؟ الدراسة وظفت التحليل النصي النوعي وتحليل الفيلم ما بعد الاستعماري. يعتمد الإطار النظري للدراسة أساسًا على نظرية ما بعد الاستعمار ومفهوم "التمثيل"، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على بعض المفاهيم الفرعية ذات الصلة، مثل: التشويه، والتقابل الثنائي، والهيمنة. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن التمثيلات السينمائية لليمن واليمنيين لا تعكس الواقع بانعكاس محايد، بل تتشكل وفق تفاعلات معقدة تحكمها علاقات القوة والخطاب والأيديولوجيا. ومن خلال تطبيق منظور ما بعد الاستعمار ومفهوم التمثيل، تُبيّن الدراسة كيف يعيد هذا الفيلم إنتاج اليمن بوصفه فضاءً مهمشًا وخاضعًا لمفهوم «الآخر» ضمن السرديات السينمائية العالمية. وبناءً على ذلك، تؤكد الدراسة على ضرورة تقديم معالجات درامية وسينمائية أكثر دقة وعمقًا، تستند إلى السياق الواقعي وتتجاوز الصور النمطية والاختزالية؛ بما يسهم في تعميق الفهم لجدلية التمثيل والهوية وعلاقات القوة في السينما الدولية.التنزيلات
