Historical research in Islamic Jurisprudence Principles Vision, Domains and Horizons

Abstract

The study intends to identify the notions and pivots through which research on Islamic Jurisprudence Fundamentals history can be conducted. It also aims to sensitize the significance of investigating history of sciences and thought history in Islamic Sharia science in general and Islamic Jurisprudence principles and rules history in particular among scholars, highlighting the need for compiling, classifying and reordering a set of contemporary historical studies. The study is organized into an introduction and two chapters. Chapter one dealt with the concept and significance of Jurisprudence fundamentals research. Chapter two discussed the pivots of Jurisprudence principles history with reference to domains and methodologies. The study revealed that history, as a way of thinking and researching, is the study, interpretation and analysis of life events, their causes and impact. It was also concluded that historical research is of a paramount importance and direct actual effect on increasing our understanding of Islamic Sharia science and broadening horizons on Sharia science including jurisprudence principles science.
