Abstract

This research investigated the role of statistical skills in predicting the academic decision-making abilities of female high school students in Al-Layth Governorate, while examining differences in both statistical skills and decision-making across academic tracks (health, business administration, and general). Employing a descriptive-analytical method, the study was conducted on a sample of female students from Al-Layth High Schools in Saudi Arabia, using two instruments developed by the researcher: a statistical skills test and an academic decision-making scale. Findings underscored the urgent need to strengthen statistical education through practical training, applied activities, and the use of appropriate tools and software. Moreover, the study emphasized the necessity of revisiting educational policies to better align curricula with the requirements of different tracks and to enhance academic advising and support for students, teachers, and parents.
