The Big Five Factors in Predicting Life Satisfaction for the Personality of University Students

Abstract

The aim of the research is to discover the possibility of predicting life satisfaction through the five major factors of personality. To achieve this, the researchers chose a simple random sample of (708) students from Dhamar University, of whom (406) were males and (302) were females, in the 2012 academic year 2013, they respond to the list of Big Five Personality Factors prepared by Costa & McCrae, in its second form. The results showed that the relative weight of life satisfaction among the sample members varies relatively. And the differences were statistically significant between males and females in life satisfaction in favor of males, while they were in favor of females in neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, and good males.
