The significance of the current study consists in the importance of the phenomenon of Sa’lik’s poetry during the Pre-Islamic Era of Arabic literature. It suggests that paying more attention to such poetic phenomenon and its related researches would absolutely contribute to the disambiguation of some aspects in the Pre-Islamic literature. Not only that, it would also enable scholars and students of Arabic literature to reconsider the image of Sa’lik represented throughout history, their views of life and community then, and the nature of social and cultural contradictions. Taking this significance into consideration, this study seeks to contribute to the practical reading of Sa’lik’s poetry through the textual and analytical contiguity to the contents of the self-presence in the poetry of Orwa bin al-Ward. It highlights how the artistic space reveals the poet's ability to employ the technical devices to represent self-presence through several interrelated thematic and aesthetic images.Downloads
