The Reality of the Culture of Change in Yemeni Universities: An Empirical Study

The research aims to identify the reality of the culture of change in the Yemeni university, and to reveal the impact of the variables: gender, university, and type of work on the estimates of the research sample members towards that reality. The researchers have used the descriptive approach, in its analytical and survey style, and a questionnaire was prepared that includes (46) items, distributed over three areas through which the culture of change crystallizes, namely: the will to change (15) items, the requirements for change (17) items, and change management (14) items. The tool was applied to a random sample of (120) faculty members and academic leaders in the faculties of education in the universities of Sana'a, Aden, Taiz and Ibb. The results indicate a low level of the reality of the culture of change in Yemeni universities, which reached (55%), a percentage that does not rise to the level of the role assigned to the university in leading change within society, especially in this era. The results also have indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the estimates of the respondents, due to the research variables.
