Abstract

The current study examinee, analyzed and studied a monotheistic Sabaean inscription of construction inscriptions, written on a stone (new discovery), found in the village of Al-Arafa, in Al-Saddah Directorate (Ibb Governorate). Those who look at the inscription notice that it has a constructional commemorative nature, speaking in its entirety about architectural works. The study consisted of an introduction in which it addressed the importance of the study and the methodology followed. The body of the study was divided into two parts. The first part was devoted to documenting and studying the inscription (its description, history, and meaning in Arabic), tracing its content and linguistic connotations, in addition to reviewing its topic and extrapolating its doctrinal connotations. The second part was devoted to define the spatial source of the antiquity and the geographical context in which it is located, in addition to its ancient historical importance, by addressing the archaeological remains and historical sources related to that. The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which are: the presence of words that are rarely mentioned in the published Mosnad inscriptions. There is a mentioned for a new palace from the palaces of the Kingdom of Himyar, which is the Palace of Al-Ghail, which belongs to a family that had an ancient social status (leaders of the royal army). The study also showed the historical importance of the location of the village of Al-Arafa (the place where the inscription was found), as it was in the past within the geographical scope of the city of Dhofar, the capital of Himyar Kingdom.
