Training Needs in the Educational Research Skills for the Educational Supervisors in Dhamar

The present research aimed at identifying the training needs in the educational research skills for the educational supervisors in Thamar City. That was to identify whether there was a difference of views among the educational supervisors regarding their training needs in the educational research skills according to the variables of gender, academic qualification, years of experience and the number of training courses. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher constructed a questionnaire consisting of (96) items divided into five areas as follows: preparation of the research plan, construction of the theoretical knowledge of research, methodology and data collection procedures, analysis and interpretation of results and preparation of the research report. After checking the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, it was conducted on as sample of (58) who were educational supervisors in Thamar City. The research has revealed the following results: 1 - The results of the study revealed that the level of training needs in the educational research skills among the educational supervisors in Thamar City is too high. The mean score was (3.73) with a standard deviation (0.66). 2. In terms of the areas of study, they varied based on their mean scores. The first area was (the preparation of the research plan) which ranked the first at a mean score 3.94 with a standard deviation 0.58. The second area was equal to the first one in terms of the mean score, but the standard deviation was less than that of the first area. The third area (methodology and data collection procedures) ranked the last in terms of training needs, where the mean score was 3.48 with a standard deviation 0.83. There were no significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean responses of educational supervisors with regard to their training needs that can be attributed to the variables of gender, scientific qualification, years of experience and the number of training courses.
