Evaluation of the Physics Teacher Preparation Program, Faculty of Education - Taiz University in the light of modern Educational trends

The research aims to evaluate the preparation program of the teachers of physics in the college of education and the importance of those courses, and to identify the suitability of the physics teacher preparation program in the College of Education - Taiz University for modern educational trends, and to provide a scientific basis for making decisions to develop the physics teacher preparation program in line with modern educational trends. The research is limited to students of the Department of Physics - College of Education - Taiz University - fourth level - second semester of the academic year 2005/2006 AD. Teachers, mentors of physics in the secondary level in Taiz city, and the modern educational trends included in the tool, components of (35) directions that include (teacher and technology entrance, scientific enlightenment, scientific innovations and science ethics, preparing a physics teacher based on standards of performance or achievement). The research has adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the research community included all (165) students of the fourth-level physics department at the Faculty of Education - Taiz University for the academic year 2005/2006 AD. The research has found shortcomings and weaknesses in the preparation of the student/teacher with regard to aspects of academic preparation, such as linking the theoretical side of the scientific subject with the scientific side, and the necessary tools and experiments for experimentation are not available, and the concerned side has deficiencies, as it does not meet the needs or requirements of change and deepening knowledge.
