The Educational Competencies required for the teacher preparation Program in the Faculty of Education, Thamar - University of Thamar

The research explores an educational issue of great importance, as the good preparation of the teacher is based on a number of principles such as the link between theoretical educational education and practical preparation. The research tries to answer what are the educational competencies required for the teacher preparation program in the Faculty of Education, Thamar University? The research is limited to the members of the faculty and the administrative staff in the Faculty of Education, Thamar University for the academic year 2008/2009, first semester. The research community consists of all members of the teaching and administrative staff in the Faculty of Education in the academic year 2008/2009, first semester. The research community has reached 45 individuals, of whom 35 represent the faculty members who teach the requirements of the program: cultural, educational, and specialized, and the remaining 10 represent the administrative staff. As for the research sample, it consisted of 25 members of the faculty and 5 members of the administration. The research concluded that all the educational competencies from educational psychology courses have increased their arithmetic median than the approved arithmetic mean (2.5), and thus it can be said that these competencies should be focused on during the preparation of the student in the program of the College of Education.
