The current research aims to build a tool for measuring the self-confidence among the students of the Faculty of Education, Thamar University, and measuring their self-confidence, making a comparison between students with high scores and students who failed and the variables of self-confidence and academic achievement. Taking into account the fact, that self-confidence is one of the central important topics in psychology and is seen by workers in this field as representing a major dimension in understanding personality. It is not possible to achieve a clear understanding of it or behavior without knowledge, or verification of the process of self-confidence. The researcher has adopted the analytical descriptive approach through data analysis to identify the process of self-confidence and its relationship to students' academic achievement. This could be achieved through selecting a representative sample of graduate and failure students from the Faculty of Education, Thamar University, scientific and human departments. The total population was (1029) for the academic year 2001-2002 AD. It has become clear that the arithmetic mean of the sample was (143.5), the standard deviation was (18.5), while the hypothetical mean was (150). After using the t-test for one sample, it was found that the extracted T-value was (3.51), which is statistically significant at the level (0.05). ). This indicates that students of the said faculty suffer from weakness and low self-confidence.
