Abstract

Abstract:
This study aims to identify the concept of artificial intelligence and its uses in the field of libraries and information facilities as well as to monitor the reasons why libraries use smart applications in providing information services and detecting associated challenges. We have relied on the descriptive method that enabled us to analyse the scientific literature of the subject as well as the data collected from the sample of study estimated at 16 individuals representing the librarians and information specialists of Skikda and Guelma universities in Algeria through the interview tool, where we have reached a set of results. The most prominent of which was that data analysis and digital transformation support are among the most important reasons why the libraries and information facilities of Skikda and Guelma universities need to use artificial technology. As per the challenges found, they are set to legal, technical, human, organizational and financial challenges.
