The concept & impact of Al-Hashu (i.e wordiness ) in Arabic Grammar

Abstract

The current research discusses the phenomenon of Al-hashu (i.e. wordiness or redundancy) in Arabic grammar, which means that there are words in a sentence if omitted; the meaning would not be broken down because they are unessential. The research presents the types of Al-hashu. This could be of Al-hashu of movement, of character, of words or of a sentence. It also provides a scientific analysis of the various perspectives of scholars of the causes for its existence in Arabic speech, as well as the effect it has on the different grammatical rules in the matters of prepositions, nouns and verb.
