Egomania in Omar Ibn Abi Rabeeah's Erotic Poetry

This research aims to shed light on the phenomenon of egomania appeared in the poetry of Omar Ibn Abirabeeah: its definition, concept, reasons and lineaments. The research is divided into an introduction followed by the poet's biography, the concept of the egomania, its reasons. and the egomania in the poet's works. The research is concluded by mentioning its results which show that this poet is distinguished from other erotic poets in Umayyad era. This study also reveals the implicit reasons of this poet's egomania. First, the psychological lineament, focusing on his ego which includes his honor, self-admiration, the depiction of women's love toward him and his rejection. Second, the artistic lineament that has different sides appeared in his first and last names.Downloads
