Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the degree of Yemeni universities faculty members adherence to professional academic, national, economic, and humanistic ethics during the ongoing Yemeni conflict, in light of international standards for educational ethics in times of war. Conducted between 2024 and 2025, the study employed a descriptive-analytical methodology on a sample of 294 male and female students from Saba Region University. A questionnaire was utilized as the study tool for collecting data pertaining to professors’ adherence to these ethical standards. Results revealed an overall mean adherence score of 2.63, reflecting a moderate level of commitment. Concerning domain rankings, humanistic ethics received the highest adherence score (mean = 3.11), followed by national ethics (mean = 2.97), while economic ethics scored the lowest (mean = 2.23). Statistically significant gender differences were reported in the academic and humanistic domains, favoring female participants at a significance level of 0.05. However, no significant differences were observed in the economic and national domains. While no significant differences emerged between scientific and humanities disciplines in academic, national, or economic ethics, humanities disciplines showed significantly higher adherence in the humanistic domain at the 0.05 significance level.
