Abstract

This research explores the national orientation of Nu`man ibn al-Mundhir, which is considered one of the most prominent topics in the history of al-Hirah, indicating that the national orientation in the period of al-Nu`man rule took many forms and colors. It also tries to identify the real motives that contributed to the opening of the seeds of national feeling in Iraq, explaining the debates and dialogues that took place between al-Nu`man Ibn al-Mundhir and the Persian Emperor Khosra. The research also dealt with the site of confusion and the origin of its inhabitants and the interest of Nu`man ibn al-Mundhir in poetry and literature, and the Persians conspired to eliminate Nu`man and kill him.
