Abstract

The research aims to provide a spatial analysis of private health facilities and the extent to which there is a relationship between their spread and the distribution of government health facilities in the city of Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, and relied on data and statistics issued by the health affairs in the Asir district, and digital maps from the district's secretariat were used, as well as field visits. It consists of an introduction, a preface, and then a review and interpretation of the study data. The results showed that the distribution of private and government health facilities is moving towards the east of the city of Abha, and there is almost a match between the distribution of government primary health care centers and private medical complexes. In addition, the presence of private health facilities is not linked to the absence of government facilities, and that more than a third of the city is deprived of government and private health facilities. Moreover, private health facilities, at all levels, are capable of meeting the need for health services, and achieving the Ministry of Health's strategy in involving the private sector in the field of health.
