This research was conducted on a sample of public and private school students in order to identify the level of self-confidence among them, and to identify the nature of differences in their level of self-confidence. According to the school type variable (public - private), the researcher has prepared a scale consisting of (36) items to measure the self-confidence characteristic, and applied it to the research sample consisting of (200) students, half of them from public schools and the other half from private schools. The results have shown that middle school students have an average level of self-confidence, as their percentage reached (55%) of the respondents. While (29%) of the respondents obtained a high level of self-confidence, (16%) of these students obtained a low level of confidence. The results of the research also have shown that public school students are more self-confident than private school students. These results were interpreted for each of the research objectives.
