The current research seeks to investigate the following two objectives: to identify the level of verbal abuse that children are exposed to by parents in Dhamar city, and to identify the nature of the differences in the level of verbal abuse that children are exposed to by parents in Dhamar city according to the variable of the child's gender (male - feminine). The sample consisted of (400) male and female children (200) males versus (200) females, who were selected randomly from four basic schools in Dhamar city. The researcher has used the parental measure of the child from the primary education stage, prepared by the researcher Najwa Nader (1998) at the University of Damascus. It has been shown that children in the Dhamar city are subjected to verbal abuse by their parents and that the level of verbal abuse by the father is greater than the level of verbal abuse by the mother.
