Abstract

This study explored how social media influences the promotion and development of national identity among Omani university students, aligning with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the research employed questionnaires to gather insights from students and social media users, focusing on usage patterns and content linked to national identity. Findings revealed that intentional and policy-supported engagement with social media can reinforce citizenship values, enhance societal awareness, and safeguard cultural uniqueness. Moreover, the research highlighted the resilience and stability of Omani youth’s national identity, which remains strong despite external pressures, reflecting deep-rooted cultural and social values.
