Abstract

The research aims to explore the obstacles of the field research at Taiz University from the point of view of the faculty members. It indicates that there are significant deficiencies in the studies that dealt with this topic on the Arab and local levels, and it points to a set of essential differences between theoretical research and field research. The researcher finds out that there are a number of reasons behind these deficiencies such as the low level of social awareness of the importance of field research, the high rates of illiteracy, the increasing burden of the teaching staff, and the increase in the administrative burdens.
