Problems Encountering Prospect Teachers in the Faculty of Education, Thamar University during Field Application of Practical Education

Abstract

The current study aimed to find out the most important problems facing fourth-level students teachers in all scientific and human departments in the Faculty of Education, Thamar University, during the period of field application in public education schools related to Thamar City Directorate, from their point of view. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire that included the most important problems facing prospect teachers during the period of field application of practical education in schools. The study comprised (47) items distributed over five areas, which are in order (problems related to the practical education program, problems related to the academic supervisor, problems related to the prospect teacher, problems related to the school of were applications were carries out, and problems related to the cooperating teacher). After verifying the validity of the study tool, it was applied to a sample of prospect teachers from the scientific and human departments, numbering (124) male and female students, in the academic year 2021/2022. The results showed that the most important problems they facing the prospect teachers during the field application of practical education in the first place were related to the school of application, followed by those related to the student teacher himself, followed by those related to the cooperating teacher, followed by those related to the academic supervisor, and finally those related to the practical education program. It was also noted that there were differences among the average estimates of the members of the study sample due to the variable of gender in favor of females, and the absence of differences due to the variable of specialization.
