Publication Fees and Waiver Policy

Thamar University Journal of Natural & Applied Sciences (TUJNAS) is committed to transparency in all publication-related charges.

1. Article Processing Charges

TUJNAS charges authors an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

The current APC is:

  • Thamar University researchers, including staff and students: YR 20,000
  • Yemeni researchers from Yemeni universities, institutes, centers, organizations, and foundations: YR 30,000
  • Overseas researchers: USD 200

Applicable article types: all types.

Payment stage: The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been peer reviewed, accepted for publication, and officially notified as accepted by the editorial office.

No payment is required at the time of submission. The payment or non-payment of publication fees has no influence on editorial screening, peer review, editorial decisions, or acceptance of manuscripts.

2. Submission Fees

TUJNAS does not charge a submission fee.

3. Waiver and Discount Policy

Waiver or discount requests must be submitted during the initial submission process. Waiver decisions are handled administratively and independently from editorial decision-making. Editors and reviewers do not have access to information about an author’s ability to pay, and payment status does not influence editorial or peer-review decisions.

Authors from developing countries may request a 20% discount. Additional waivers or discounts may be considered based on the author’s country, institutional circumstances, and available journal resources.

4. Editorial Independence

All manuscripts submitted to TUJNAS are evaluated according to scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

Publication fees, waivers, discounts, institutional affiliation, nationality, or funding status do not influence editorial decisions.

5. Refund Policy

The APC is payable only after acceptance. Once the APC has been paid and the article has entered production or been published, it is non-refundable.

Refunds may be considered only in cases of duplicate payment, erroneous payment, or administrative error. Withdrawal of a manuscript after acceptance does not normally qualify for a refund once production work has begun.

6. Transparency Statement

TUJNAS publishes all applicable fees, waiver conditions, and payment procedures on the journal website. Any changes to fees or waiver procedures apply only to manuscripts submitted after the updated policy has been published online.

Authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office before submission if they have questions about publication charges, waivers, or payment procedures.
