School phobia and its Relation to the Academic Achievement of the Fourth-Grade Students of Elementary School

This research tends to identify the level of school phobia among the fourth grade students of the elementary schools in Sana'a Municipal. It explores the degree of differences in the level of school phobia among students and to recognize the relationship between school phobia and educational achievement of students. The research sample consisted of (227) students, (127) males and (100) females. The researcher has used the scale of school phobia as a tool for collecting the data in addition to the students' marks as appeared in the teachers' marks sheets. The researcher has also used a set of statistical methods that totally related to the nature of the study to achieve the objectives of the study. After analyzing the data statistically, the following results were reached. It was found that the pupils of the primary schools at Sana'a Municipal suffer from school concerns at an average level in general. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of school phobia among students according to gender variable. There is a negative and significant correlation between school phobia and educational achievement.Downloads
