The aim of the research is to formulate a proposal for developing the administrative competencies of college secretaries at Taiz University. This can be done through determining the availability of administrative competencies among them in the light of the principles of total quality management. We try to find whether there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) according to the estimation of the sample members for the level of availability of administrative competencies due to variables like of gender, college, and the years of experience. The research has used the descriptive approach with its two types of survey and development and the questionnaire method as a data collection tool consisting of (55) items distributed in five areas; effective leadership, effective decision-making, strategic planning, participation and teamwork and continuous improvement. The tool was applied to a sample of (83) male and female employees from different faculties at Taiz University. The results have showed the lack of administrative competencies among college secretaries, with an average score of (1.17), and a standard deviation (0.29). The areas were arranged in descending order as follows: effective leadership, effective decision-making, participation and teamwork, continuous improvement, and finally strategic planning. The results have also showed the presence of statistically significant differences due to the college variable in favor of applied colleges and the absence of statistically significant differences attributable to the gender variable and years of experience. The research has presented a proposal for developing administrative competencies.Downloads
