This study aimed to investigate the effect of repeated reading training on reading fluency skills among primary school pupils with learning disabilities. For the study purposes, a multiple-baseline-across-participants design was employed as one of the single-case research methodologies. The sample consisted of five purposively selected primary school pupils with learning disabilities. The study instrument was the Correct Words Per Minute (CWPM) measure, which served as an indicator of reading fluency. Repeated reading training was implemented over 23 sessions for each participant, distributed across three phases: baseline (3 sessions), intervention (18 sessions), and generalization (2 sessions). The training sessions incorporated the repeated reading strategy as the principal instructional intervention. The findings demonstrated a highly positive effect of repeated reading training on reading fluency skills across all participants, as the results of the Non-overlap of All Pairs (NAP) analysis indicated a very strong intervention effect, confirming the effectiveness of the training program. Moreover, the findings from the generalization phase revealed that participants retained approximately 95% of the acquired skill, highlighting the sustainability of the intervention effect and the transferability of reading fluency skills across diverse reading contexts.References
