ORCID Policy
ORCID iD for Authors: TUJNAS strongly encourages all authors to use an ORCID iD (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier) when submitting manuscripts. An ORCID iD is a unique digital identifier that distinguishes each researcher and ensures that their publications and contributions are correctly attributed to them, even if they have similar names to other authors. Many leading publishers and funding agencies worldwide have adopted ORCID, and there is an industry-wide movement to require ORCID iDs for journal authors. By embracing ORCID, we join this effort to improve author identification and credit.
Benefits of ORCID Integration: Integrating ORCID into our submission and publication process brings significant advantages to authors:
- Accurate Attribution: ORCID provides a persistent identifier that unambiguously connects your name with your work, from research articles and datasets to conference proceedings and patents. This helps prevent confusion caused by name variations or name changes, ensuring you receive proper credit for all your scholarly contributions.
- Consolidated Research Profile: Your ORCID profile becomes a single, authoritative record of your academic output. Authors can maintain their key information (affiliations, biography, funding, etc.) and list of publications in one place under their ORCID account. You control what information is public or private, and you can update your profile at any time.
- Seamless Updates and Integration: TUJNAS’s publishing platform is enabled to collect authenticated ORCID iDs during manuscript submission. When your paper is published, we (via Crossref) will automatically update the associated ORCID records to include the new publication. This means your ORCID profile will reflect your latest TUJNAS publication without any extra effort from you. Moreover, ORCID links with numerous other systems – from university repositories to grant application portals – exchanging data and reducing repetitive data entry for researchers. Using ORCID streamlines your workflow: for instance, many submission systems, including ours, allow you to log in or register with an ORCID iD, populating your details instantly and accurately.
ORCID in TUJNAS: We recommend that the corresponding author of each submission (and ideally all co-authors) link an ORCID iD to their account in our journal’s submission system. Providing an ORCID iD is simple and free – if you don’t yet have one, you can register for an ORCID iD in moments. Once linked, this identifier will appear alongside your name in the published article, and readers or indexing services can click the ORCID icon to view your profile and other works. Embracing ORCID helps enhance the visibility of your research and ensures that you get credit for your work through accurate attribution. TUJNAS is committed to ORCID integration as part of our effort to support researchers’ visibility, credit, and convenience in the scholarly publishing landscape.
